Meghan A. McCaffrey is an associate in the Litigation Department of the Washington, DC office of Weil, Gotshal & Manges. Ms. McCaffrey’s practice focuses on the defense of products liability actions, mass tort matters, class actions, and other complex commercial litigation. Ms. McCaffrey has been involved in defending major U.S. and foreign corporations in actions brought in federal and state courts throughout the United States at both the trial and appellate levels. These actions involve a variety of subjects, including high-performance fibers, ballistic vests, mass tort actions, the False Claims Act, toxic exposure claims, and the 9/11 terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center as well as counseling companies under congressional investigation. Ms. McCaffrey has also assisted companies in the area of crisis management and prevention. Most recently, Ms. McCaffrey was part of the trial team that conducted a 67-day bench trial that ended with a very favorable result for the client.
Ms. McCaffrey received her J.D. with honors from the University of Texas School of Law in 2008, where she served as co-chair of the Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court team. She received her BA in 2005 from the University of Pittsburgh, graduating as a University Scholar and summa cum laude, where she majored in History and Political Science. Ms. McCaffrey is admitted to practice in New York and the District of Columbia and also before the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
