Mary Jean M. Potenzone is a partner in the ERISA group of the Tax Department of the New York office of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP. Ms. Potenzone has been a partner of the firm since 1987. Her practice focuses primarily on sophisticated corporate, reorganizational and fiduciary transactions of leading Fortune 100 companies with respect to general ERISA issues and complex ERISA matters engendered by mergers & acquisitions. She has more than twenty-five years of experience in ERISA-related law.
Prior to joining Weil Ms. Potenzone had been a partner with the public accounting firm of Touche Ross & Co. as national tax director of employee benefits. She has spoken on employee benefits in mergers & acquisitions and bankruptcy for several national organizations including ABA Tax Section and WEB. Her clients have included General Electric, General Electric Capital Corporation, and Arthur Andersen.
Ms. Potenzone is a certified public accountant in New Jersey.
