Mary Jean M. Potenzone retired from the partnership in 2016. Mary Jean was a partner in the Executive Compensation & Benefits practice of the New York office since 1987. Her practice focused primarily on sophisticated corporate, reorganizational and fiduciary transactions of leading Fortune 100 companies with respect to general ERISA issues and complex ERISA matters engendered by mergers and acquisitions.

Prior to joining Weil, Mary Jean had been a partner with the public accounting firm of Touche Ross & Co. as national tax director of employee benefits. She spoke on employee benefits in mergers and acquisitions and bankruptcy for several national organizations, including the ABA Tax Section and WEB. Mary Jean is also a certified public accountant in New Jersey.
