Marc L. Silberberg is a member of the Firm’s Tax Department and has been a partner in the Firm since 1987. His practice focuses principally on the structuring and negotiation of mergers, acquisitions, and restructurings on behalf of publicly traded companies, closely held companies, and private equity funds and their portfolio companies.
Mr. Silberberg has served as a member of the Executive Committee of the New York State Bar Association Tax Section and as a co-chair of its Committees on Investment Funds, Pass-Through Entities, and Tax Accounting. He is a frequent lecturer and panelist on federal income tax matters.
Mr. Silberberg has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America in the field of Tax Law and named among the leading Bankruptcy Tax Specialists in the nation’s major law firms by Turnarounds and Workouts magazine.
Mr. Silberberg has served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of HIAS, a global nonprofit that protects refugees, and serves on the Board of Directors of the September 11th Families Association, which operates the 9/11 Tribute Center at the World Trade Center site.
Mr. Silberberg received his B.A. from Northwestern University and a J.D. and LL.M in taxation from New York University School of Law.
