Lindsay Bourne is an associate in the firm’s International Arbitration and Trade groups with a focus on investor-state arbitration, trade compliance under US export control laws, trade sanctions, investment restrictions, antiboycott regulations, and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and white collar investigations. She has experience across a range of industries, including energy, financial services, private equity, manufacturing, agriculture and technology. Ms. Bourne has represented multinationals and governments in investor-state arbitrations. She has also advised US and non-US companies in criminal and regulatory proceedings and internal investigations related to US trade law.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Bourne served as a legal fellow at the Center for Justice and Accountability where she represented victims of human rights abuses, bringing civil suits in US courts under the Alien Tort Statute and international criminal cases before the Spanish National Court.
Ms. Bourne obtained her JD, with honors, from The George Washington University Law School. She received her BA in History and Political Science from Colgate University. During law school, Ms. Bourne was a member of the Moot Court and Mock Trial Boards, was appointed co-chair and problem-writer for the Grenadier International Law Moot Court Competition, and represented her school at the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. She received the Judge Albert H. Grenadier Award for her achievements in the Jessup competition, and the Jennie Hassler Walburn Award for excellence in civil procedure.
Ms. Bourne is admitted to the bars of the District of Columbia and the State of California, and is an active member of International Bar Association, the International Chamber of Commerce Young Arbitrators Forum, and the Young International Arbitration Group of the London Court of International Arbitration. She is proficient in Spanish.
