Joe Basile is managing partner of Weil's Boston office and a member of the firm's Corporate department. He specializes in representing sophisticated international corporations and private investment funds in their most challenging transactional matters. Mr. Basile's practice focuses on complex cross-border M&A transactions, control and minority investments, joint ventures and strategic alliances in the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia and Latin America. Mr. Basile also advises publicly held companies regarding securities law issues, disclosure and compliance matters and corporate governance.
Mr. Basile is involved in a number of non-profit and civic activities. He is a member of Board of Fellows of Stonehill College, a member of the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Business Roundtable and co-chair of the Board of Advisors of the Joseph W. Martin, Jr., Institute for Law and Society. He is also a former member of the Massachusetts State Ethics Commission.
Mr. Basile has been regularly recognized for Corporate/M&A by PLC Which Lawyer?, for Private Equity Buyouts by Chambers USA and for Hedge Funds by both Chambers USA and Chambers Global. Mr. Basile was also selected as one of the 2010 Burton Award winners in the Legal Writing category.
