Jonathan E. Carr is an associate in the Litigation Department. Before joining Weil, he clerked for the Honorable Emmett Ripley Cox, US Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, from 2006 to 2007.
Mr. Carr’s practice focuses on the defense of product liability actions, mass tort matters, white collar investigations, and other complex litigation. Mr. Carr has participated in all stages of litigation and has been involved in defending US and foreign corporations in actions concerning breach of contract, product recalls, the False Claims Act, the Federal Shipping Act of 1984, and the 9/11 terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center. Mr. Carr is also active in pro bono matters, including the successful representation of clients in applications for Social Security disability benefits and an asylum application.
Mr. Carr received his BA with high honors from the University of Virginia in 2000 and also earned an MSc in Politics of the World Economy from the London School of Economics in 2002. Mr. Carr graduated from Duke Law School in 2006, where he served as a Note Editor of the Duke Journal of Constitutional Law & Public Policy and as a Co-Chair and Hardt Cup Coordinator of the Duke Moot Court Board. He is a Fulbright Scholar and a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
