Jeffrey Weinberg, a partner in the New York office of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, concentrates his practice in corporate mergers & acquisitions, securities law and restructuring transactions. In addition, he handles public offerings, private placements, corporate financings, joint ventures and leveraged buyouts, and frequently counsels boards of directors on a variety of issues, including corporate governance. Mr. Weinberg's responsibilities also include oversight of the firm's practice in India.
On behalf of the firm, Mr. Weinberg has represented many public and private corporations in the United States, including The New York Daily News, Estee Lauder Companies, Inc., H.J. Heinz Company, Tommy Hilfiger, Hughes Electronics Corporation, MCI, Inc., Bechtel Corporation, Duane Reade Inc., Bacardi Ltd., Fidelity Management and Research, Kasper A.S.L., Ltd., Tourneau, Quaker Oats, Galoob Toys, Inc. and Bill Blass. He has also been the lead lawyer for the firm in advising United Kingdom-based companies including, Signet Group, Reuters, Elementis Group plc and Dixons Group. He has also represented many of the firm's clients in leveraged buyout transactions.
Mr. Weinberg is a graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook and Georgetown University Law Center, where he was on law review. He is a member of the American Bar Association and New York State Bar Association. He has written and lectured extensively on topics, including mergers & acquisitions and issues of disclosure, and is a television commentator on mergers & acquisitions developments.
