As a Dallas-based partner in the firm’s Corporate Department, Mr. Tabor handles complex corporate transactions for clients in a wide variety of industries. Mr. Tabor is representing Kinder Morgan in its $5 billion acquisition of Copano Energy. Mr. Tabor recently was named “Dealmaker of the Week” by The Am Law Daily for his representation of Kinder Morgan in its $38 billion acquisition of El Paso Corporation, which created the largest pipeline company in North America. He also recently represented Kinder Morgan in connection with El Paso’s $7.15 billion spinoff of its Exploration and Production business, EP Energy Corporation. Other recent matters include: representing General Electric and NBC Universal in the joint venture with Comcast for ownership of NBC Universal; representing NBC Universal in the merger of the A&E Networks (which include A&E Network, The History Channel and The Biography Channel, among others) with Lifetime Television Networks; and representing NBC Universal in its acquisition (together with Bain Capital and Blackstone Group) of The Weather Channel/Weather.com.

Other matters on which he has advised include representing Richard Kinder and his senior management team in the $22 billion buyout (together with Goldman Sachs, Carlyle and AIG) of Kinder Morgan, Inc.; Kinder Morgan in connection with its recent IPO, which was the largest energy IPO in the past decade; General Electric Company in its $1.1 billion acquisition of Hydril, its $1.9 billion acquisition of Vetco Gray and its $520 million acquisition of Lineage Power; and Great Lakes Chemical Corporation in its $1.8 billion merger with Crompton Corporation.

Mr. Tabor also regularly represents a number of private equity funds in acquisition and investment transactions in various industries. Mr. Tabor graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1990. He earned his undergraduate degree in American Studies from Oklahoma Christian University in 1986. Mr. Tabor is the youngest Texas-based attorney to be ranked in Band 1 as a leading Corporate/M&A lawyer in Chambers USA's most recent client guide. He is admitted to practice in both Texas and New York.
