James Westra is a member of the Management Committee and is the managing partner of the Boston office.
Mr. Westra has developed a diverse corporate practice. He regularly represents a number of the country’s leading private equity and venture firms in acquiring and making investments in public and private companies, both in the US and Europe. Mr. Westra also represents numerous public companies on general corporate matters, financings and merger & acquisition transactions. He also regularly serves as counsel to boards of directors and board committees with respect to corporate governance matters.
Mr. Westra has been involved in a number of charitable and non-profit activities, and is currently an overseer with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and a member of the board of the Boston Rescue Mission, an organization dedicated to meeting the needs of the homeless. He has also been active in his community of Wenham, Massachusetts, where he currently serves as chairman of the Board of Appeals.
