Isabella C. Lacayo is an associate in Weil’s Litigation Department. Ms. Lacayo works primarily on the defense of product liability and mass tort matters as well as other complex litigation. She has participated on teams representing major domestic and foreign corporations in complex commercial litigations and appeals in federal and state courts. Ms. Lacayo’s practice focuses on contract claims, defective product allegations, personal injury claims, False Claims Act violations, and sovereign immunity. Her diverse experience includes participating in defending companies in litigations relating to the 9/11 terrorist attacks and the Holocaust. In addition, she has worked on teams advising companies on the product liability issues of entities targeted for purchase or acquisition. Ms. Lacayo has also assisted in the drafting of amicus curiae briefs on issues impacting product liability and mass tort law.
Ms. Lacayo is a regular contributor to Weil’s Product Liability Monitor, a blog discussing key trends and developments in the product liability/mass tort field. She has written for other publications on various subjects, including jurisdiction, motion practice and discovery.
Ms. Lacayo is a native Spanish speaker. She received her J.D. in 2006 from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law where she was an editor of the Cardozo Law Review.
