NEW YORK (May 11, 2009) –
The Innocence Project, the national litigation and public policy organization dedicated to exonerating wrongfully convicted people, honored Weil, Gotshal & Manges at the organization's annual dinner, held last Wednesday evening in New York. Since 2005, Weil Gotshal has worked on over a dozen matters with the organization, has successfully helped to exonerate numerous people across the United States who were the victims of wrongful convictions, and has assisted the Innocence Project in obtaining compensation for the harm the wrongfully convicted have suffered. Weil Gotshal has worked as a team with the organization to accomplish its mission to reform the criminal justice system and to provide a voice for those who suffer its shortcomings.
