The centerpiece of Weil’s environmental/waste management practice is the firm’s product liability practice group, which features veteran litigators who have significant experience with a variety of high-profile, high-stakes cases, including Superfund cases and those cases involving liabilities related to the transportation and management of waste products, including those produced by nuclear-power plants.
We complement this primary competence with significant litigation experience in areas of specific relevance to the industry, including complex commercial litigation and antitrust, employment/labor, and RICO. All told, our litigators provide a particularly robust set of skills and are able to deploy in force to any jurisdiction in the US – federal, state, or otherwise.
Our corporate experience in the industry is likewise strong, representing both waste management companies as well as banks and financial sponsors in numerous M&A transactions and financings, and as the industry consolidates, our antitrust team stands ready to assist clients both before and after transactions to ensure that deal value and future market position are optimized.
In sum, our environmental/waste management practice offers clients a uniquely broad set of legal skills applicable to the industry, capable of assisting on virtually any challenge industry players face.
