In re WorldCom, Inc. (Embratel Sale Hearing)
WGM successfully represented WorldCom Inc. (formerly MCI) within the WorldCom bankruptcy regarding the sale of Embratel, the Brazilian long distance concessionaire to Telmex, the Mexican telephone company. Since WorldCom had made a motion for sale approval while it was still in Chapter 11, MCI had to get the Court’s approval for this sale. This representation involved multiple WGM practice groups. In the end, the court, ruled in favor of the sale.
