Donald R. Whittaker is counsel in the firm's Corporate Department. He has a diverse corporate practice with an emphasis on domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions. He specializes in creating and managing corporate data rooms for the auctions and other sales of public companies and divisions and coordinating large-scale acquisition due diligence.
Mr. Whittaker recently represented Vivendi Universal in its $14 billion sale of Vivendi Universal Entertainment to NBC. He also represented MCI in its pending acquisition by Verizon. Other representative clients include: Invensys plc; Parmalat SpA; Millennium Chemicals; Mobil; Suburban Propane; General Electric Capital Corporation; Pfizer; Estée Lauder; Leucadia National Corporation; Hanson plc; Pirelli SpA and L'Oreal.
Mr. Whittaker graduated from Duke University School of Law where he was Order of the Coif. He received a B.A. from Ursinus College in English and Economics.
