David Wohl is a Corporate partner in the New York office of Weil, Gotshal and Manges LLP.
Mr. Wohl represents sponsors and underwriters in structuring and launching new open- and closed-end investment companies, business development companies, employees' securities companies and investment advisory firms. He has also provided general corporate and regulatory advice to registered investment companies, private funds and investment advisers, including extensive experience with the SEC and FINRA.
Mr. Wohl's experience includes representing investment companies and investment advisers in these capacities with respect to mergers, reorganizations and public and private acquisitions of investment advisers and the organization of registered and unregistered investment vehicles. He has also advised investment advisers, issuers and underwriters on a variety of securities matters.
Mr. Wohl is a member of Weil’s Financial Regulatory Reform Working Group, helping to guide investment companies, private funds, and investment advisers through challenges associated with new financial reform legislation.
Mr. Wohl earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School and his B.A., magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from Williams College. He is a member of the American Bar Association and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.
