(August 31, 2009, Weil Gotshal News)

NEW YORK – Stephen J. Dannhauser, Chairman of Weil, Gotshal & Manges, participated in a press conference this morning with hip-hop musician and entrepreneur Jay-Z and several public officials to promote Jay-Z's benefit concert at Madison Square Garden to be held on the evening of September 11, 2009. All proceeds from the concert will go to the New York Police & Fire Widows' and Children's Benefit Fund.

Mr. Dannhauser serves as the Benefit Fund’s President and Chief Executive Officer. The Benefit Fund’s mission is to provide assistance to the families of New York City's police officers, firefighters, Port Authority police, and EMS personnel who have been killed in the line of duty. The Fund gives financial assistance to grieving families immediately after the loss of a loved one, and the Fund aims to raise enough money to provide a meaningful annual distribution to its beneficiaries for the remainder of their lives.

The organization's annual benefit dinner will be held October 8, 2009.
