Dániel Simonyi is an associate assisting clients in a variety of general corporate and regulatory matters, specifically concerning mergers & acquisitions and environmental law.
Since joining Weil’s Budapest office in 2006, Mr. Simonyi has represented a range of major Hungarian and international clients. He has participated in the coordination of complex transactions in multiple jurisdictions and has advised on wide-ranging regulatory matters. Mr. Simonyi has particular experience concerning investments in renewable energy resources and environmentally-friendly technologies, as well as a range of environmental law-related issues. He is also very active in the Budapest office’s pro bono practice.
Prior to joining Weil’s Budapest office, Mr. Simonyi worked in the private equity department in Weil’s Washington, D.C. office, where he focused specifically on private equity funds investing in emerging markets, such as Hungary. Prior to that, he worked at the National Development Office of Hungary and the cabinet of the Hungarian Minister for European Affairs, where he dealt with international relations. He was also an intern in the U.S. House of Representatives for Congressman Tom Lantos, a Democrat from California.
Mr. Simonyi is fluent in English and Dutch and proficient in French, in addition to his native Hungarian.
