Chris Barraza is an associate in the Litigation department of the Washington, DC office of Weil, Gotshal & Manges. Mr. Barraza’s practice focuses on the defense of products liability actions, mass tort matters, class actions and other complex litigation. Mr. Barraza has been involved in defending major U.S. and foreign corporations in actions brought in federal courts throughout the United States at both the trial court and appellate levels. The actions in which he has been involved have concerned a wide variety of subjects, including high-performance fibers, the False Claims Act, and corporate governance. He has also defended companies in international arbitrations relating to oil and gas exploration disputes in Latin America.
Mr. Barraza has represented individuals and non-profit advocacy groups pro bono before the Bronx Supreme Court in relation to environmental litigation under the New York State Environmental Quality Review Act and Brownfield Cleanup Program.
Mr. Barraza joined the firm following graduation from the Georgetown University Law Center in 2006.
Mr. Barraza is fluent in both Spanish and French.
