Christina Trapani is an associate in the Litigation Department of Weil’s New York Office. Her practice focuses on securities and derivative litigation in federal and state courts, bankruptcy litigation and related adversary proceedings, and a wide range of white collar and internal investigations matters.
Ms. Trapani has been a part of a Weil team representing a Fortune 500 company in matters alleging breach of contract, as well as violations of the ’33 and ’34 Acts and state corporate governance laws. She also has played a large role on the Weil team representing Lehman Brothers in connection with its bankruptcy and related proceedings involving derivatives transactions, and has been part of another team conducting internal investigations for a US company with respect to possible mortgage fraud violations raised by the Department of Justice and Securities and Exchange Commission.
Ms. Trapani is actively involved in a number of pro bono matters for the Education Law Project at New York Lawyers for the Public Interest (NYLPI). As part of her work for the Education Law Project, she has assisted a team that has litigated more than 13 cases, including the successful representation of parents of special-needs children in their dispute with the New York City Department of Education. She also advises NYLPI on a number of related constitutional issues.
Ms. Trapani graduated magna cum laude from New York Law School, where she served as Senior Editor of the New York Law School Law Review and was a John Marshall Harlan Scholar, and received her B.A., cum laude, from the University at Albany.
