Charles M. Persons is an associate in the Business Finance & Restructuring Department of Weil, resident in the firm’s Dallas office.

Mr. Persons’ practice focuses primarily on chapter 11 cases, including a variety of bankruptcy litigation matters. He has played roles in the firm’s representations of Texas Rangers Baseball Partners, Dallas Stars, L.P., Blockbuster, Inc., AMR Corporation (American Airlines, Inc.), Crescent Resources, LLC, and SemGroup Holdings, L.P. In addition, Mr. Persons served as lead restructuring associate in the chapter 11 reorganization of Electrical Components International, Inc., as well as lead associate in the firm’s representation of Macquarie Capital as the largest unsecured creditor in the chapter 11 filing of Reddy Ice Holdings, Inc. He is currently part of a team representing SemCrude, L.P. in appeals pending in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

Mr. Persons is a member of the Dallas Area Young Lawyers, the DAYL Foundation, and the American Bankruptcy Institute. He works closely with his alma mater, Indiana University (Bloomington) Maurer School of Law, mentoring current students. He has represented Hill Country Memorial Hospital (Fredericksburg, TX) in a pro bono capacity, as well as pro bono clients in connection with Texas Accountants and Lawyers for the Arts (TALA) and the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program (DVAP).
