Catherine Nowak is an associate in the Litigation Department of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP and a member of the Securities Litigation/Corporate Governance practice group. Ms. Nowak primarily represents corporations and executives in shareholder class actions, internal investigations, and regulatory proceedings. She also has extensive experience working with expert witnesses. Prior to joining the firm Ms. Nowak was employed on special assignment with the Department of Finance Canada, assisting with Canada's negotiations at the G-20, IMF, and Paris Club. She has also worked in the Toronto office at one of Canada's leading full-service law firms.
Ms. Nowak received her bachelor's degree in Public Affairs and Policy Management (summa cum laude) from Carleton University in 2005. In 2008, she received her JD degree from Osgoode Hall Law School, York University. While at Osgoode, Ms. Nowak worked as senior editor for the Osgoode Hall Law Journal and was a volunteer with The Innocence Project. She also received the Ian Scott Public Interest Award for her work with the Kenyan judiciary.
Ms. Nowak is a member of the American Bar Association, the New York City Bar Association, and the Law Society of Upper Canada.
