- What is the average number of weeks that summer associates work?
Our Summer Program starts in mid-May and generally ends in August. Summer associates generally work from eight to ten weeks. Split summers are determined on a case-by-case basis.

- Are summer associates assigned mentors?
Yes. Each summer associate is assigned to an associate mentor and a partner mentor who answer questions and assist with orientation and training.

Opportunities to spend time in one of our other offices are sometimes available and such requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

- Can summer associates work on pro bono matters?
Yes. Summer associates work on pro bono matters and also have the opportunity to participate in community service projects.

- Do summer associates travel for work?
On occasion, summer associates travel for work-related assignments or professional development workshops. Most stay in Silicon Valley throughout the summer, but summer associates may travel to other US cities on the same terms as permanent associates for corporate meetings or litigation-related matters.

- What is the firm's dress code?
Our dress code is business casual, unless circumstances (e.g., a court appearance or client meeting) require full business attire. Each summer associate represents the firm to its clients and visitors and should present a professional image at all times.

- Where do summer associates typically live?
During the summer program, summer associates typically live a short distance from the office or, on occasion commute from San Francisco. Before the program begins, summer associates are provided with a list of resources they can use to find summer housing.
