Our Summer Associate Program provides an exceptional opportunity for outstanding law students from across the nation.

Serving as the foundation of our recruiting efforts, our program is designed to expose each summer associate to the professional challenges of practicing law at the highest level as well as provide opportunities for fellowship with colleagues inside and outside the office. Our goal is to give a diverse cross-section of law students a realistic picture of a full-time practice. Summer associates are part of the team and participate in client meetings, court appearances, closings and strategy sessions, in addition to drafting briefs, contracts, legal memoranda and pleadings. Generally, summer associates spend at least six weeks in the Houston office and rotate through two or more practice areas.

Being a summer associate at Weil was an extremely rewarding experience. I appreciated being given challenging work assignments that were actually used in Weil's many high-profile cases. Most importantly, though, I enjoyed working closely with and getting to know all the great people at Weil!

While we offer law students an excellent chance to work with the practical applications of their law school training, the summer program is not all work. Our summer associates participate in the rich cultural life that Houston offers, including sports outings, theatre and the arts, at-home dinners, and many other special events designed specifically for each class.
