Rotation Process & Feedback
We have in place a tried-and-true program for giving our summer associates maximum exposure to the substantive legal matters that define our practice.
We assign work to our summer associates strategically, in order to maximize their exposure to the key aspects of our practice.
The Boston office does not adhere to a formal rotation process and prefers that students commit to working in either our Corporate or Litigation departments. As a corporate summer associate, you will see the strategies and structures used in the transactions we handle as you help draft and negotiate acquisition or financing documents, participate in closings of public offerings and acquisitions and work on financing transactions and structuring of leveraged buyouts. Litigation summer associates participate in all phases of both white collar criminal litigation and complex civil litigation. This includes attending strategy meeting, conducting legal research, preparing discovery requests and responses and attending court hearings.
Summer associates receive two formal reviews — one midsummer and one at the end of the program. Summer associates who would like additional feedback are encouraged to ask supervising attorneys for their input.
