Before joining Weil Daniel worked in the Hungarian public sector. He was impressed by Weil’s knowledge of the Hungarian markets and the strong relationships they had developed throughout Central-Eastern Europe.
Weil went to Central-Eastern Europe soon after the Cold War ended and is very well known in Hungary. The firm is open to new challenges and ready to move when opportunities present themselves. It has been so rewarding to see how deals are born and how the private sector moves and thinks. Working with clients such as General Electric or the now privatized Hungarian Oil Company, I have the sense that not only are we involved in major deals but we’re also helping determine Hungary’s future. I really feel the responsibility that I get. And because companies coming to Hungary for the first time need political and social guidance as well as investment advice, it is so important that we have such an impressive team in place to provide everything those clients need.
Weil is amazingly well organized and efficient and there’s such an accumulated knowledge base within the firm. Everybody, from the partners to the support staff, was helpful and open to questions and comments. From the beginning I was channeled into the right circuits – I knew whom to reach to get things done and I was prepared for what to do in meetings. I’ve never felt lost here. There is constant feedback and always enough communication, from junior and senior associates as well as partners, and this really motivates me.
I have done pro bono, due diligence, corporate and finance work. And no one expected me to be able to do everything from day two since you basically start from scratch when you join the firm. I’ve appreciated the fact that the partners I’ve worked with have been patient from the outset. Because they want to help and guide you I’ve learned to deliver the quality that is expected of me.
