Brian A. Waldbaum is Counsel to the firm and a member of the firm's Structured Finance and Derivatives practice group. Mr. Waldbaum represents corporate and financial institutions, issuers, underwriters, and investors in structured finance and derivatives transactions, both in the US and abroad. He has participated in the securitization of a multitude of asset classes and has extensive experience in structuring rental car securitizations, CLO transactions, derivative transactions and other structured products. He advises clients on compliance, risk assessment and disclosure issues, and serves on the firm's Financial Regulatory Reform Working Group, providing advice to clients in connection with legislative and regulatory reforms impacting structured products, the securitization industry and the credit rating agencies.
Mr. Waldbaum has devoted countless hours on a pro bono basis to advising the New York Police and Fire Widows' & Children's Benefit Fund and the Boys & Girls Harbor.
Mr. Waldbaum began his legal career as a summer associate at the firm in 1998. He received his JD, magna cum laude, from Cardozo Law School, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the Cardozo Law Review and a member of Order of the Coif. He received his BS from Cornell University and is a member of the bars of New York and New Jersey.
