Anthony J. Albanese is a partner in the firm's Securities/Corporate Governance group. He has extensive experience in litigating complex business, securities and corporate matters in numerous jurisdictions at the trial and appellate levels.
Mr. Albanese also has extensive experience with investigatory matters, such as defending SEC and other U.S. and Canadian governmental investigations and conducting internal investigations on behalf of independent board committees. Mr. Albanese's practice includes counseling boards of directors, independent board committees and senior management with respect to numerous corporate governance, business judgment, fiduciary duty, disclosure, investigatory, regulatory and other issues.
Mr. Albanese’s practice also includes representing private equity clients in connection with disputes arising from large equity investments. Mr. Albanese also has extensive experience with contested bankruptcy proceedings, including significant involvement in the reorganization of Lehman Brothers, the largest bankruptcy case ever filed in the United States, as well as involvement with the restructuring of General Motors Corporation.
Mr. Albanese is a member of the firm's Hiring Committee.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Albanese served as a law clerk to the Honorable Joseph W. Bellacosa, then-Associate Judge of the New York State Court of Appeals.
While in law school, Mr. Albanese served as an editor of the St. John’s Law Review.
Public Service
Mr. Albanese is a member of the St. John's University Board of Governors, an advisory board to the University's Board of Trustees.
