Anne M. Cappella is a partner in Weil's Silicon Valley office, where she focuses on patent counseling and litigation. Ms. Cappella is engaged in a diverse intellectual property practice spanning strategic protection and exploitation of intellectual property; patent litigation and dispute resolution; patent license negotiations; trade secret litigation; technology transfer analysis; consortium arrangements; and intellectual property due diligence.
Ms. Cappella has also had several years of patent litigation experience representing clients in state and federal courts, the U.S. International Trade Commission, and arbitration proceedings. She has handled patent infringement and trade secret actions in areas of technology as diverse as memories; cellular communications; computer graphics; semiconductor processing and packaging; wireless and broadband communications; and integrated circuit design. Her litigation experience includes complex multi-patent and multi-district litigations.
Before practicing law, Ms. Cappella was an engineer in the Interconnect Products Division of IBM and a consultant for IBM's Professional Systems Division.
Ms. Cappella is a graduate of Southern Methodist University and received her law degree from the University of Texas. She is admitted to practice in the Northern District of California, the Federal Circuit, Western District of Wisconsin, and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
