Angela Zambrano is a partner in the firm’s Complex Commercial Litigation practice. She has more than 15 years of experience representing companies and boards of directors in business litigation and internal investigations, including class actions and multi-jurisdictional disputes, and has tried cases before numerous federal and state courts in Texas and around the country. Ms. Zambrano regularly litigates cases involving allegations of fraud, breach of contract, bad faith, and breach of fiduciary duty, as well as employment claims, shareholder claims, and business torts for companies in a wide variety of industries, including insurance, healthcare, private equity, manufacturing, energy, transportation, data storage, media and entertainment, and agriculture.

Ms. Zambrano also regularly handles domestic and international arbitrations, purchase price disputes, and accounting-related disputes, and has developed a robust insurance litigation practice, including acting as national coordinating counsel for Ability Insurance Company in litigating claims brought by long-term care policyholders in several states across the US. She also has been recently playing a significant role representing American Airlines in antitrust litigation brought against Travelport, Orbitz, and Sabre alleging that they engaged in anticompetitive conduct in certain markets for corporate travel. Additionally, Ms. Zambrano also has extensive experience with bankruptcy-related litigation and restructuring issues, including proceedings and litigation related to General Motors, Trump Entertainment Resorts, Inc., and SemGroup; notably, since 2010, she has participated as trial counsel in three contested confirmation trials.

Ms. Zambrano has earned a reputation for providing outstanding litigation advice that clients can use to make critical business decisions. In 2006, she was named among D Magazine’s “Top Lawyers Under 40,” and since 2007, she has been recognized annually by Texas Super Lawyers as a leading lawyer in the area of Business Litigation.

In addition to her active practice, Ms. Zambrano regularly speaks on litigation topics, including expert witnesses, privilege, drafting contracts, indemnification, class action issues, and case management. She also has published articles on consumer class action issues, evidentiary issues, attorneys’ fees, witness preparation, and managing multi-jurisdictional litigation.

Ms. Zambrano is the Hiring Partner for the Firm’s Dallas office and serves on its Professional Development Committee. She regularly trains new associates on litigation topics and serves as the Career Development Partner for the Dallas litigation section.

Ms. Zambrano is deeply devoted to her community and received recognition in 2010 as one of Five Outstanding Young Dallasites by the Dallas Junior Chamber of Commerce. She currently serves as a board member of the Dallas Women Lawyers Association. She previously served as a member of the board of directors of Friends of Wednesday’s Child, an organization devoted to benefiting the lives of foster children. She is also a sustaining member of Attorneys Serving the Community, which benefits charitable organizations in the DFW area that serve women, children and families.

Ms. Zambrano received her J.D. from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law, and her B.A. from the University of Kansas.
