Adam Plainer joined Weil's London office in 2011 as a partner and Head of the London Restructuring team. He has led a wide range of well-known restructurings (including contingency planning) and formal insolvencies, advising boards of companies, distressed investors, senior and junior lenders, and leading insolvency practitioners. He also has extensive experience in distressed M&A.

Adam has had significant experience representing leading accounting firms and restructuring practices on workouts and restructurings, as well as UK clearing banks, US investment banks, hedge funds, private equity firms, and boards of directors in major corporate restructurings.

His representations include:

  • the board of XL Leisure and its administrators
  • the administrators of Birthdays Limited
  • the board of Ennstone plc on a pre-packaged administration
  • various creditors in the restructuring of the Cheyne, Whistlejacket, K2, and Sigma Structured Investment Vehicles
  • the company on the restructuring of Agcert International plc
  • Honda Motor on the administration of the Super Aguri F1 team and the restructuring of HondaGP
  • various lenders on the restructuring of Premier League football clubs
