Shawn Kodes is an associate in the Structured Finance and Derivatives practice at the New York office of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP as well as a member of the Firm's Financial Regulatory Reform Working Group.
His experience encompasses securitization and other structured financial products, including structuring domestic and cross-border commercial paper-funded securitization vehicles and securitizing commercial loans, auto loans, rental car fleets, credit card receivables and other financial assets. He also has experience with derivatives including credit derivatives, FX and interest rate swaps, and total return swaps.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Kodes was a Vice President of a financial services company that arranged capital markets financing for global financial institutions. Mr. Kodes was responsible for transaction management and execution, as a well as oversight of the company’s legal matters.
Mr. Kodes received his B.A., cum laude, from Syracuse University in 2004. He received his J.D., cum laude, from New York Law School in 2007, where he was associate managing editor of the New York Law School Law Review.
