Scarlett Collings is Counsel in the Litigation department of Weil, Gotshal & Manges' Houston office. Ms. Collings concentrates in the area of complex commercial litigation, including employment, bankruptcy, and shareholder litigation. She has participated in every facet of litigation, including jury trial, dispositive motion practice and argument, complex traditional and electronic document discovery, fact and expert witness depositions, and alternative dispute resolution.
Ms. Collings has represented clients in a variety of industries including energy, construction, product manufacturing, and commercial services. Specifically, during her career, she has represented corporate clients including Knight Inc. (f.k.a Kinder Morgan, Inc.), Lockton Companies, Enron, Merrill Lynch, Compass Financial Partners, Crescent Real Estate, Garmin International, and Halliburton.
In addition to her commercial practice, Ms. Collings is a member of the Texas Bar Foundation and is committed to providing quality pro bono client services. She has represented clients referred by the National Center for Refugee & Immigrant Children and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, and she has provided volunteer legal services for various Bar committees and legal aid clinics.

Ms. Collings received her J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law in 1997 where she graduated Order of the Coif, with honors, and was the Administrative Editor of the Texas Law Review. She graduated a member of Phi Beta Kappa in 1994 from the University of Hawaii, Honolulu where she received her B.A. degree in Political Science with honors. Ms. Collings clerked for the Honorable John Cornyn and the Honorable Deborah Hankinson on the Texas Supreme Court from 1997 - 1998.
Ms. Collings is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Houston Bar Association, and she is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, as well as the United States District Court for the Southern and Northern Districts of Texas. She serves on the firm’s E-Discovery Task Force and is an active participant in the Women at Weil affinity group. Ms. Collings is an active member of the Junior League of Houston.
