Reneé Wells is an associate in the Business Finance and Restructuring Department in the Houston office of Weil, Gotshal & Manges.
Ms. Wells has primarily represented debtors in several industries including energy, telecommunications, commercial and residential building services, and health care services. During her career, Ms. Wells has been significantly involved in the chapter 11 cases of WorldCom, Inc., Enron Corp., and Encompass Services Corporation.
Ms. Wells received her JD cum laude from Texas Southern University Thurgood Marshall School of Law in 1999. During law school, Ms. Wells served as vice president of the Black Law Students Association and historian for the International Legal Fraternity of Phi Delta Phi. She also served as a research assistant and tutor in Constitutional Law. Ms. Wells served as a judicial intern for the Hon. Vanessa D. Gilmore in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas and as a law clerk for the Hon. Frances L. Antonin in the Superior Court of New Jersey. She received her BS degree cum laude in psychology from Xavier University in 1995.
Ms. Wells is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Houston Bar Association Bankruptcy Section, the Houston Young Lawyers Association and the Houston Lawyers Association. She is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas.
