Michael Nicklin is a partner in the firm's Finance group and is based in our London office. Michael regularly represents and advises leading private equity sponsors, banks, other financial institutions and corporate clients in structuring and negotiating complex cross-border and domestic acquisition finance transactions including public-to-private transactions. In addition, he has considerable experience in a wide-range of other financing transactions including debt restructurings (including debtor-in-possession and exit financings), debt buybacks, bank/bond deals and bridge finance.

Michael is consistently recognised as a leading finance lawyer in all of the major directories, including Chambers UK, Chambers Europe, Chambers Global, Legal 500, IFLR 1000 and Legal Business' Legal Experts. In these directories Michael is variously described as a "rising star", an "extremely promising younger partner with great commercial sense", "one of the best young partners in the market", a "star of the future…..who wins acclaim for his 'diligence and focus on getting the deal done rather than point scoring." and as "very experienced, very commercial and very responsible. He's very close to what is the best market practice."

He is a regular speaker and author on the subjects of acquisition finance and syndicated lending.

Michael is dual-qualified as a UK solicitor and US attorney admitted to practise in New York. He was also resident in the firm's New York office for 2 years.
