Mark Soundy is a partner in the Corporate group in the London office. Mark’s practice is based around UK and international M&A work. He specialises in private equity and increasingly in complex restructuring work. With over twenty-two years’ experience in M&A, Mark has worked on many different mandates across the globe and has completed over one hundred transactions.
He acts for a number of leading institutional investors, international businesses and, on occasion, management teams. He is also experienced in early stage investment and development capital work. Over the years, he has built up particular expertise in the media, retail and financial services sectors.
Mark spends an increasing amount of time in the Middle East, and is a founding partner in our Dubai office.
Mark is a member of the Legal & Technical Committee of the British Venture Capital Association. Mark speaks and writes regularly on issues relating to international M&A and private equity. He is a consultant editor of A Practitioner’s Guide to Private Equity.
Mark is involved in a number of charitable and non-profit activities. He is a member (and was the founder Chairman) of the Trinity College (Cambridge) Alumni Advisory Board, founder Chairman of the Old Summerfieldian Advisory Committee and a Strategic Partner of The Beacon Fellowship. He also provides pro bono legal advice to several clients including Bridges Community Ventures, Peace One Day, Twin and The Venture Partnership Foundation.
