Marc A. Weinroth is an associate in the Litigation Department of Weil, Gotshal & Manges’ Miami office and is a member of the firm’s Complex Commercial Litigation practice group.
Mr. Weinroth has significant experience in the defense of class actions, multidistrict litigations, and class arbitrations, and has worked on a broad range of commercial disputes involving areas of law such as antitrust, bankruptcy, business torts, civil RICO, contracts, employment, entertainment, ERISA, fraud, health insurance, licensing, sports, and unfair and deceptive trade practices. He has been part of several teams representing clients including American Airlines, Clear Channel Communications, UnitedHealth Group, Ingenix, Oxford Health Plans, Neighborhood Health Partnership, Fiserv, Clear Channel Communications, and Lehman Brothers, and is intimately involved in all facets of cases, ranging from discovery and dispositive motions to litigation and settlement strategy. In 2013, Mr. Weinroth was named a “Florida Rising Star” for Business Litigation by Super Lawyers.
Throughout his career, Mr. Weinroth has volunteered for various not-for-profit organizations, securing reparations for Holocaust survivors through the German Ghetto Work Payment Program, achieving the out-of-state relocation of an endangered child through Lawyers for Children America, and serving on the Florida coordinating committee for the Loan Modification Scam Prevention Network, and representing a wrongfully arrested indigent client in criminal proceedings through the Ensuring Equal Justice Initiative.
Mr. Weinroth is a member of the Florida Bar, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and the Dade County Bar Association. He obtained a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he graduated cum laude, was an active member of the Moot Court Board, served as President of the Penn Law Entertainment & Sports Law Society, interned for Elfus-Siegel Management sports agency, and was a teaching assistant for sports business courses at the Wharton School. Prior to law school, Mr. Weinroth attended the University of Florida, where he received a B.A., summa cum laude, in 2004 and graduated as valedictorian of the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences.
