John Beynon, Ph.D., is an associate in Weil’s Silicon Valley office in the Patent Litigation practice. Dr. Beynon has been with the Weil since 2004. He has assisted clients in a wide range of technologies including humanized antibodies, quantitative polymerase chain reaction, DRAM memory, and digital photography. In addition to patent litigation matters, Dr. Beynon has worked on antitrust matters, private arbitrations and disputes before the International Trade Commission. His representative clients include Micron Technology, Applera, PDL BioPharma, and Samsung. Dr. Beynon is also registered to practice before the USPTO. In addition, Dr. Beynon has worked on several pro bono matters involving the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).
Prior to attending law school, Dr. Beynon earned his doctorate in chemistry at U.C. Davis. His graduate coursework emphasized analytic instrumentation and methods. His thesis focused on utilizing X-ray crystallography to study the structure and function of proteins, including microbial enzymes and plant photoreceptors. Before attending graduate school Dr. Beynon worked at Sandoz Pharmaceuticals in their Quality Assurance group.
