Weil, Gotshal & Manges' Supplier Diversity Program provides opportunities to establish business partnerships with minority- and women-owned businesses in the US. In 1991, the firm began to document the vendors with whom it did business, with the goal of creating new opportunities for vendors, including minority- and women-owned businesses. Since 1994, our per annum use of minority-owned and women-owned vendors has grown from $375,000 to more than a million, over 8 percent of our annual spend.
We also want to assist US businesses who are certified or working toward certification as diversity suppliers to understand what is expected of our suppliers. We utilize a Vendor Profile Form to track our certified vendors. This vendor form can be completed on this website. Once these forms have been classified, we add them to our database for potential business opportunities.
Supplier Diversity Partnerships: The National Minority Business Council recognized Weil Gotshal for our Supplier Diversity Program, an initiative which encourages us to establish business partnerships with minority- and women-owned businesses. We were also the first law firm to become a corporate member of the Women's Business Enterprise National Council, the nation's leading advocate for women-owned businesses as suppliers to America's corporations. Internationally, we are the only US law firm to participate as a founding member in a European Supplier Diversity Business Forum, a pioneering initiative that will promote supplier diversity in Europe.
Minority- or Women-Owned Businesses: We recommend that you become certified by one of the authorized site certifying organizations, the Small Business Administration (SBA), the National Minority Business Council (NMBC), the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC), Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) or one of its regional affiliates that certifies women- and minority-owned firms. If you meet the qualifications we have outlined for suppliers and you would like to be considered as a supplier under our Supplier Diversity Program, then enter your company information into the Vendor Profile Form and mail it to us. If you have a product or service that is currently required, you will be contacted for further discussion. A few of the qualities we look for in successful candidates to become suppliers to Weil Gotshal are competitive prices, quality procedures and timely processing.
