Diana M. Eng is an associate in the Litigation department of Weil, Gotshal & Manges’ New York office and a member of the Complex Commercial Litigation group. Ms. Eng’s practice focuses on complex commercial litigation as well as intellectual property and media matters.
Ms. Eng has represented clients in the federal and state courts. These matters included an array of substantive issues, including breach of contract, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty and negligent misrepresentation. In October 2007, Ms. Eng participated in a three-week trial in the New York State Court, Commercial Division, in which the firm defended certain Credit Suisse-affiliated entities in a dispute involving breach of contract, slander, fraud, as well as other alleged torts. Many of the alleged claims were dismissed prior to, and during, the trial. Ms. Eng has also participated in all aspects of the representation of an insurance client in an arbitration, resulting in a successful settlement prior to verdict in a breach of contract claim against a major reinsurance company, and a media client in a trial, resulting in a full defense verdict in a dispute involving breach of joint venture, fraud and various related torts. In addition, Ms. Eng has successfully defended the City of New York at the trial level in civil litigation involving various tort claims.
Ms. Eng is a Phi Beta Kappa honors graduate of Barnard College and received her law degree from the Columbia University School of Law. She also served as a research assistant to the late E. Allan Farnsworth, one of the foremost authorities on contracts. Ms. Eng is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and the Asian American Bar Association. She is admitted to practice in New York and before the United States District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
