David Laibstain is a senior associate in the Corporate Department of Weil, Gotshal & Manges. Mr. Laibstain’s practice focuses on mergers, acquisitions and private equity transactions, representing public and private companies and financial sponsors in deal execution on both the buy and sell side.
His experience includes public and private acquisitions, venture investments, recapitalizations, minority investments, joint ventures, distressed investments and cross border transactions. He has particular experience in the educational software, enterprise software and grocery industries.
Mr. Laibstain also works closely with portfolio company management teams on day to day outside general counsel projects, including matters related to corporate governance, commercial contracts, employment, SEC reporting and financings.
Mr. Laibstain is actively involved in the firms pro-bono efforts, providing advice to a variety of local non-profits, including the Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts, MassEquality, Keshet and the Belmont Farmer’s Market.
Mr. Laibstain is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. His interests include carpentry, modern art and sailing.
