Carmen E. Bremer is an associate in the Patent Litigation practice group of Weil's Litigation Department. Ms. Bremer has been involved in all facets of patent infringement litigation in federal district courts, in mediations and arbitrations, before the International Trade Commission and the Federal Trade Commission, and before the US Courts of Appeals for the DC and Federal Circuits. Ms. Bremer has participated on teams representing clients such as General Electric, Apple, Samsung, Microsoft, General Motors, MetroPCS, Micron, and eBay in both offensive and defensive patent infringement cases involving a wide range of technologies. Most recently, Ms. Bremer participated on a trial team representing General Electric that secured a more than $170 million verdict against Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. for infringement of a GE patent for wind turbine technology.

Ms. Bremer also devotes a significant portion of her time to pro bono matters. In addition to serving on the Dallas Office's Pro Bono Committee, Ms. Bremer has won asylum in the United States for victims of human rights violations in several countries, secured a U-Visa for a domestic violence victim under the Violence Against Women Act, and facilitated the return of two young children to their father under the International Child Abduction Remedies Act. Ms. Bremer currently participates on teams mounting constitutional challenges to a North Dakota law affecting women’s reproductive rights and to long-term solitary confinement practices at California’s Pelican Bay State Prison. Ms. Bremer also serves on the board of directors of alley’s house, a nonprofit organization that works to break the cycle of poverty in the Dallas area by providing education and mentoring services to teen mothers.

Ms. Bremer is a member of the Order of the Barons and the Order of the Coif. She has been named as a Rising Star for 2011, 2012, and 2013 by Texas Monthly magazine, and also as an "Outstanding Young Associate" for 2009 by the Human Rights Initiative of North Texas.
