Ariel Rothstein is an associate in the firm’s Securities Litigation practice, where she focuses her practice on internal investigations, shareholder derivative and class action litigation, and regulatory and enforcement proceedings. She has been involved in all aspects of representing major domestic and foreign corporations in a variety of litigation settings in both state and federal court.
Ms. Rothstein also has an active pro bono practice, including working on a NYCHA pro bono matter for a Section 8 claim of fraud, and volunteering with the NYC Justice Resource Center, where she coaches a Mock Trial team from the Edward R. Murrow High School.
Prior to joining Weil, Ms. Rothstein worked as a criminal public defense attorney for The Bronx Defenders, where she represented indigent clients in a wide range of misdemeanor and felony matters. She litigated hundreds of cases for clients at all stages of criminal proceedings from pre-arrest through trial, including obtaining favorable rulings for clients in both courtroom hearings and written decisions.
Ms. Rothstein received her B.A. from the University of Richmond, where she graduated summa cum laude and as a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She received her J.D. from Harvard Law School, where she graduated cum laude and was a member of the Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review and the Harvard Defenders.
