Tony Wang is a partner in the firm’s Corporate Department and is based in the Shanghai office, which he helped to launch in 2004. His practice focuses on corporate and securities laws, with an emphasis on complex private equity and venture capital transactions, cross-border mergers & acquisitions and capital markets transactions. Specifically, in recent years, Mr. Wang has represented various buyers and sellers in connection with both in-bound and out-bound cross-border M&A transactions involving China businesses, as well as numerous private equity investors in connection with investments in Chinese portfolio companies. Prior to moving to Shanghai, Mr. Wang practiced for many years in Silicon Valley, where he represented numerous emerging growth companies, public companies, investment banks and venture capital funds in connection with initial and follow-on public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, private equity and debt financings, strategic alliances and other complex commercial transactions. In addition, Mr. Wang has extensive experience in dealing with U.S. securities compliance issues, corporate governance matters and intellectual property issues and he has acted as general outside counsel to numerous public and private companies at all stages of development.

Mr. Wang, who is fluent in English and Chinese, received his B.A. in economics from the University of California at Berkeley and his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.
