Andrew Fox is an associate in the London Dispute Resolution Group, where he acts for clients in substantial international disputes across a wide range of fora, including litigations in England before the High Court, the Employment Tribunal and the Copyright Tribunal; litigations in off-shore jurisdictions, including Guernsey and the BVI; and arbitrations before tribunals under ICC, LCIA, industry body, and ad-hoc rules, including appearing as an advocate.
Andrew has, as part of a team, acted and appeared for numerous clients, including: a Czech heavy engineering manufacturer as claimant in an ICC arbitration in London relating to a breach of a long-term supply contract for ship engines; a multinational pharmaceutical manufacturer in an ICC arbitration involving disputes under a global joint venture arrangement; Kaupthing Bank hf in a series of £1bn+ disputes in England, the BVI, and Iceland against the bank's former leading borrower involving the enforcement of security rights; a Turkish entrepreneur in an ICC arbitration in London concerning a joint venture investment in, and the management of, a large chain of discount drugstores; the joint liquidators of entities formerly controlled by the Trustees of the Tchenguiz Discretionary Trust in proceedings in England, the BVI, and Guernsey against former and current Trustees; Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. in the Client Monies litigation in the Chancery Division and the Court of Appeal; Lehman Brothers Special Financing in the RASCALS litigation in the Chancery Division; American Airlines Inc. in competition proceedings before the High Court; and a hedge fund administrator in an LCIA arbitration in London in a $100mn breach of contract and professional negligence claim arising from the collapse of a client fund.
As well as acting in current proceedings, Andrew has substantial experience advising clients across a range of disputes prior to reaching litigation or arbitration, especially in relation to warranty and guarantee claims. He regularly advises clients in relation to all aspects of arbitration agreements and arbitration clauses in the context of private equity transactions, shareholders agreements, joint ventures, and the negotiation of commercial contracts. He also has experience assisting clients with responding to regulatory investigations initiated by authorities both in the UK (Office of Fair Trading, Financial Services Authority) and the US (Department of Justice Antitrust Division).
Andrew qualified as a Solicitor of England & Wales in 2007 having undertaken litigation seats in Weil's London and Silicon Valley offices. He is a graduate of the University of Edinburgh (LLB Hons).
