Alex Martin is an associate in the Structured Finance practice of Weil’s London office. Alex has experience on a broad range of structured finance transactions, structured products (CLOs, CDOs, credit and index linked note repackagings, standalone and programme issued structured notes with embedded derivatives), OTC derivatives (CDS, IRS, FX, TRS and longevity-linked transactions), loan and securitisation hedging transactions and a number of other regulatory capital, accounting, tax and funding driven arrangements.
Alex has also advised on default management and the disposal and settlement of structured finance products and has recently provided advice to the Special Administrators of MF Global UK Limited and Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc.
Additionally, as part of a team, he has represented a range of financial institutions, managers, private equity houses and corporates, including amongst others, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Nomura, HSBC, Credit Suisse, Barclays, Deutsche Bank, Lloyds, Leeds Building Society, Blackstone / GSO and General Motors.
During 2011, Alex completed a six-month secondment to the Structured Finance legal team of Bank of America Merrill Lynch, working on a variety of structured products and secured note issuances with embedded derivatives.
Prior to joining Weil, Alex was a member of the derivatives and structured finance team in the London and Dubai offices of a magic circle law firm.
